Our Story

Cooper's AquaArmor didn't begin in a boardroom—it began with a fear.

For years, water felt intimidating. As a child, swimming wasn't a source of joy or confidence. When our son Cooper was on the way, we made a promise: we wouldn't let fear become something we passed down to the next generation.

While six months pregnant, Britton learned to swim.

That journey sparked a passion for water safety and a desire to better understand how families can stay safer around pools, lakes, beaches, and waterways. Through countless hours of research, one discovery stood out above all others: many children's swimsuits are designed for style, but very few are designed with visibility in mind.

Studies from water safety experts revealed that certain colors remain far more visible in and around water than others. Yet when we looked at the swimwear available for children, most options blended into the environment when visibility mattered most.

Our Mission

We knew there had to be a better way.

Drawing on years of water safety knowledge, including David's decade of service as a Coast Guard officer, we set out to create swimwear that combines bright, highly visible colors with comfort, durability, and kid-approved style.

The result was Cooper's AquaArmor.

Today, we're proud to offer swimwear designed to help children stand out in the water while giving parents greater peace of mind. Every product we create is inspired by our belief that water should be a place for confidence, adventure, and family memories—not unnecessary worry.

Our mission is simple:

To bridge the gap between water safety research and everyday products, helping families Glow Together and Splash Forever.

The Kents & The Shellridges!

The Kent's

Britton Kent | Founder & CEO
Britton is the heart behind Cooper's AquaArmor. What started as a personal journey to overcome a fear of water became a mission to help other families feel more confident around it. Through extensive research into water safety, visibility science, and child-focused product design, she transformed an idea into a growing family business dedicated to making a difference one swimsuit at a time. When she's not leading Cooper's AquaArmor, you'll find her dreaming up new products, connecting with families, and championing water safety education.

David Kent | CFO
David brings strategy, discipline, and a deep understanding of water safety to the team. A former Coast Guard officer with ten years of service, he has spent his career helping people navigate complex challenges and make informed decisions. At Cooper's AquaArmor, David oversees financial planning, operations, and long-term growth while ensuring the company remains true to its mission of making safer swimwear accessible to families everywhere.

Cooper Kent | Chief Inspiration Officer & Future CEO
Every great company needs a visionary, and ours just happens to be the youngest member of the team. Cooper inspired the creation of Cooper's AquaArmor before he was even born. His arrival motivated us to rethink how families approach water safety and sparked the journey that became our company. Today, Cooper serves as our official product tester, quality control specialist, and Chief Splash Officer. His curiosity, energy, and love of adventure remind us every day why we started this mission. And someday? We fully expect him to take over as CEO.
